Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Ownstage (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the live demo at demo.ownstage.app and related demo tools (the “Demo”), including when you buy test tickets, receive email receipts, view tickets, use the manager panel, or scan QR codes. It does not apply to the Ownstage marketing site at ownstage.app, which has its own policy.
The Demo is not a real event. By using the Demo or submitting payment, you acknowledge that we may process information described here to operate the Demo, evaluate refund requests, and defend against fraudulent or mistaken payment disputes. Refund rules are in our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
When you use the Demo, we may collect:
- Contact information — such as the email address you enter at checkout so we can deliver QR tickets and order confirmations.
- Order and ticket data — products purchased, order identifiers, amounts, currency, ticket tokens, redemption/scan status, timestamps, and related metadata stored in our demo database.
- Payment information — card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. We may receive and store limited payment metadata from Stripe (such as charge IDs, last four digits, card brand, billing country, payment status, refund/dispute status, and failure codes).
- Communications — emails you send to demohelp@ownstage.app, including refund requests and any attachments or verification details you provide.
- Technical and usage data — such as IP address, browser type, device characteristics, referring URLs, and basic request logs recorded by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) when you load pages, call APIs, open ticket links, or use scanner endpoints.
- Abuse and fraud signals — such as repeated orders, duplicate refund requests, chargeback flags from Stripe, scanner anomalies, or patterns suggesting misuse of the Demo.
2. How we use information
We use this information to:
- Process demo purchases and deliver test tickets by email
- Operate checkout, redemption, manager, and scanner features in the Demo
- Respond to support inquiries and evaluate refund requests under our Terms
- Verify identity or order ownership when you ask for a refund or account-related help
- Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access
- Respond to payment disputes and chargebacks, including submitting records to Stripe, card networks, or banks showing that a transaction was a labeled demo purchase
- Maintain reasonable business, accounting, and legal records
- Improve the Ownstage product based on aggregated or anonymized demo usage patterns
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How we share information
We share information with service providers that help us run the Demo, including Cloudflare (hosting and infrastructure) and Stripe (payment processing and dispute handling). Those providers process data as needed to provide their services and under their own policies.
We may also share information:
- With Stripe, card networks, or your issuing bank when you initiate or we respond to a payment dispute, including checkout details, Demo labels, delivery records, and support correspondence
- If required by law, regulation, subpoena, or court order
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Ownstage, users, or the public
- In connection with a business transfer (for example, merger or sale of assets)
- With professional advisers (such as lawyers or accountants) under confidentiality obligations, when needed for compliance or dispute defense
4. Refunds, chargebacks, and records we keep
If you request a refund or dispute a charge, we may use the information above to decide whether a discretionary refund is appropriate under our Terms of Service. That includes reviewing:
- Whether you contacted us before filing a bank dispute
- Whether Demo banners and checkout notices were presented
- Whether tickets were delivered, opened, scanned, or shared
- Prior refund requests or chargeback history tied to your email or payment method
We may retain order, payment, communication, and technical records longer when needed for refund review, chargeback defense, fraud prevention, or legal compliance — even if other demo data is reset or deleted. If you initiate a chargeback, we may provide relevant records to payment processors and financial institutions to demonstrate authorization and Demo labeling.
Submitting false or misleading information in a refund request may result in denial and may be documented in our records.
5. Demo environment
Data in the Demo may be reset, deleted, duplicated, or used for testing without notice. Do not submit sensitive personal information you would not want retained in a demonstration system (for example, government IDs, full payment details, or health information).
Demo tickets and emails are not confidential event credentials. Anyone with a ticket link or QR code may be logged when it is viewed or scanned.
6. Retention
We keep demo order and ticket records for as long as needed to operate the Demo, handle support, evaluate refund requests, defend payment disputes, and meet legal or accounting obligations — then delete or anonymize them when no longer needed.
As a general guideline (not a guarantee): routine demo operational data may be retained for months; payment and dispute-related records may be retained for several years where permitted or required, especially if a chargeback, refund, or investigation is involved.
7. Your choices
You may choose not to complete a purchase. To ask about data we hold from a demo order, or to request correction or deletion where applicable, email demohelp@ownstage.app.
We may deny deletion requests where we must retain information for legal compliance, payment records, ongoing disputes, fraud prevention, or enforcement of our Terms. For example, we may keep transaction and communication records after you request deletion if a chargeback is open or we reasonably believe retention is necessary to defend against claims.
If you are in a region with additional privacy rights (such as access or portability), contact us at the address above. We will respond as required by applicable law. Exercising privacy rights does not automatically entitle you to a refund; refund treatment is governed by the Terms.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information in transit and in our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Payment card data is handled by Stripe, not stored in full on our servers.
9. International visitors
If you access the Demo from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection rules than your home country.
10. Children
The Demo is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Demo purchases require payment methods we expect adults to control.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the Demo after changes means you accept the updated policy.
